Personality;
WIP
Relastionships;
Archer and Arya have more of mentor and apprentice relationship most of the time but there are times where the line is crossed and the relationship is more Mother/Son.
How they met;
Knowing what to fight for and which battles to fight is hard.Its even Harder knowing that one of your friends could get hurt because of your decision.
My name is Archer. It wasnt always my name but its the one i go by most often now.I left it behind, along with my old life when my town was burned to the ground by raiders. I'll never forget that day, and neither will my mentor, but she'll be introduced later.
My story starts when Im much smaller than i am now, younger is the more accurate word to be honest. Younger and naive.
I remember the day like it was not too long ago, the way the sun came up over the horizon at dawn and how my father would leave to work the land next to our house so we could sell the vegetables to make what little money we could. I remember my mother clearly, also leaving to go to work as well. She was a seamstress, working with clothes, one of the best, I remember. I don't remember much after watching them leave but I do remember worrying as the sunset down and they weren't home. I also remember peeking through the window as an orange tinge started lighting up the sky. Being a child, I didn't know this meant fire, so I hid as I heard screaming, tears starting to fall as I watched from the pantry. The heat and the smoke was the next thing that I felt, before hearing footsteps. I remember freezing and the need to stop breathing in fear of being found and desperately wishing for my parents. The footsteps grew louder and louder as they picked up speed and then the door swung up with such speed, I remember jumping in fright, not only due to the noise but due to who had opened it.
I had never seen this Kalon before, never in my life. Somewhat wild looking and panicked, the Kalon quickly assessed the room, before quickly heading to the bedrooms. I wasn't sure what the mystery Kalon was looking for but I wasn't gonna find out. I watched as the Kalon checked the bedroom, and I was looking for my opening to run, when the pantry door opened suddenly. Squeaking in fright, I looked up to see the mystery Kalon, which I know noticed was female. She looked fierce with her cloak and her shadowy face, along with her weapons. She looked down at me, I noted she looked....relieved? I was confused. I was even more confused when she reached out and grabbed me, picking me up, before quickly leaving my house. I of course squirmed like no tomorrow. I didn't know who this was and I wasn't going to be taken, or at least I thought before she whispered harshly to me, "Stop it!" I obeyed, but only because I couldn't believe what I was seeing as we hurried through what used to be my home. Everything was in flames, Kalons were screaming, and dark laughter was filling the air. I was horrified, terrified that if I made a sound that we would be found. But I wanted my parents, and that's exactly what I started screaming for, "Mama!? Papa?!" I didn't have time for another scream when I was silenced by the mystery Kalon.
She kept me close in her arms as we bypassed the horror and devastation and into the forest. We kept at the same pace for awhile before we finally stopped. I remember it being dark and I was exhausted but I couldn't stop crying, I didn't know where my parents were and I was alone. I don't remember much after that, only that the female Kalon made a fire and dinner, before settling down for the night, it was a long night.
That's how most of our days were spent. We would travel, make camp and sleep. I would try to ask questions but I never got an answer,not even a name. I had decided in the time we traveled that I would never see my parents again, it hurt yes,but I was starting to trust the mysterious stranger who saved me.
As we traveled, having no idea where we were heading, I picked up some skills along the way. One skil was that of finding shelter, one thing I probably never could have mastered if not for her. Another was edible plants. Though I was reluctant at first, never having been a fan of greens. But after a few nights of going to bed hungry, I was more inclined to try some, and after a few lessons he was able to identify enough to survive on his own for a few days if needed. And after every lesson, he would be graced with a soft smile for the mystery Kalon.
It turned out, after another two weeks, I finally cracked her shell. Her name was Arya and she was a ranger. She was to protect her town and when needed, the other towns surrounding hers. Curious, I had asked how someone became a ranger. She explained that most rangers take on an apprentice when the time comes. I asked whether or not she had an apprentice. She replied that she wasn't sure yet. I thought about this, it wasn't unreasonable, she was quite young still, so I didn't think much of it, as we continued on our way, we were near the mountains now, and it was starting to get colder. But there was still much to learn, as I found out. Such as patching clothing, making sure our feet were in good condition, and making sure to not sweat too much, as I hear many time from her, 'You sweat, you die.' And I heeded her words carefully.
Another week passed before we spoke freely again. She asked whether or not I would return to my home town to help rebuild. I didn't know, and I told her as much. A look I couldn't identify passed over her face, before she asked quietly, "Would you like to be my apprentice?" Shocked, I couldn't say anything for a moment before I nodded and hugged her. I remember how she tensed before hugging back.
After that, we became closer than ever, she became the mother and the mentor I needed. And I loved training with her. Though I still have a lot to learn, I know that I made the right choice because now I have a friend and mentor that would forever be at my side.
