Her History
Nadia was born on a bitterly cold winter night to Amelia and Stephen Blackwood, King and Queen of the Noble Black Woods of the Arctic. The handmaidens would say that her hair was a symbol of the full moon that was shining on the night of her birth, that she was blessed by the moonlight. And though her hair never matched those of her parents or sister, the kingdom rejoiced in having another princess.
Days turned into months, and months into years. And so the young princess grew and learned about everything and anything. She learned how to act as a princess and she learned to love her people just as how they adored her. As the princess grew and learned to love her people, it seemed like all worlds do, the town became colder and more wary of their blue-haired princess. Some muttering about witchcraft and others calling it a curse. While the castle and its staff tried to shield the young girl from the harsh reality, it wasn't enough, and soon she heard word of the rumors and though she was disheartened by the mistrust of her own people, she decided she would prove them wrong. But the damage was already done. Her parents decided that her sister Amira would be crown princess instead of Nadia, so there wouldn't be any complications when she was crowned Queen. And so Nadia became the wallflower of the kingdom, which she didn't mind much, though she did mind having to still attend the meetings and having a personal guard with her all the time, and she meant allll the time. It was at times when she was alone in her room for the day or the night where her wanderlust would creep into her heart. She longed to see the town and people surrounding the castle, the ones she wanted to protect, even though they didn't trust her fully. And so when she grew older, around 16-17, she started to plan. To escape and to explore at night, the town that had been forbidden to her to enter.
She planned for almost a whole month before finally gathering up the courage to leave and jump the wall. But what she didn't know was when she made that descision that night, she would be changed and so would her future. As she explored the town, she witnessed the murder of her handmaiden, Grace, the one who practically raised her, a better mother than her own blood. She learned that first night that the world outside her small castle was not as good as she thought it to be, and that it was dangerous and she knew almost nothing of it, and because of that she lost her handmaiden/her foster mother to the cruelty of a man, and more importantly she lost her friends because of the worlds cruelty. And she knew as she started climbing back over the outer wall that she would do everything in her power to change it even if no one knew it was her doing it.
And so the mysterious theif Storm appaered not a month later, not only to exact revenge on the man who killed her foster mother but to help those she can within the later hours of the night. And if the guards know something of a blue haired princess leaving and reentering the grounds during the night, then they say nothing because they see the changes the thief is making.
If Nadia can keep up this dangerous walk on the edge of a knife, is up to her and whether or not she's willing to put everything, her freedom, her reputation and her future, on the line to help her people.
