Willowheart
Willowheart stands for all the fighters and the ones who don't give up, like she hasn't. The ones who challenge authority when authority is wrong and still deal with the consequences. And when I think of her, I know that I too can do such things, even at the risk of myself.

History:
Willowheart's story starts just as any other clan cat's story does, with the birth of her and her brother. Willowheart was born in the middle of leaf-bare along with her brother Needlefang, to older mates, Cloverstorm and Pinewhisker. The elders of the clan then, thought that having kits in leaf-bare was a bad omen, and frequently said so to the new mother. Though the elders thought so, the rest of the clan didn't agree. The clan worked hard to support the new mother and her kits. Though they worked hard, Cloverstorm still worried there was a chance that Needlefang and Willowheart would die, and refused to name them until they either died or survived the winter, despite what their father, Pinewhisker said.
Not only did Willowheart and Needlefang survive the winter, they thrived. And as the thaw grew rampant through the clan territory, Their mother and father finally named their two kits. First her brother, Her father named Needlekit, because of the pine needles that always seemed to attach themselves to his pelt. And then Willowkit, for the way her mother missed seeing the willow trees in their territory.
Willowkit and Needlekit became the camp terrors. Being the only kits in camp, they quickly became bored and caused mischief where they could. Unfortunatly, their curiosity almost killed the cat. It was a day in late newleaf, when Needlekit decided he needed to poke around Tawnystep's den, their medicine cat at the time. Willowkit of course followed her brother. They had never been in his den, not knowing what to touch and what not to. The sweet floral scent coming from the neatly stacked herbs intrigued Willowkit but Needlekit complained about the smell before taking a whiff and sneezing. Knocking down all of Tawnystep's herbs. Looking sheepish at Willowkit's glare, Needlekit finally spotted a group a small berries. Eyes lighting up, he happily bounded over and sniffed them, and ignoring WIllowkit's warning, he took a bite. And from there, everything seemed to go in fast motion. It was only a moment after that Tawnystep returned to his den and his eyes widened in horror before he started yowling orders and curses. Willowkit didn't know what had happened after that because she was roughly grabbed by the scruff and taken back to the nursery where she was roughly scolded by her mother. She asked where Needlekit was and her mother said that he was sick. It would be a whole half moon before she saw him again. She didn't understand at the time, but he had almost died. He wasn't the same adventurous and happy kit after that. He was sullen and serious. And Willowkit missed him terribly.
Not two moons later, they were apprenticed. Thankfully together. Sootstar didn't suspend his ceremony as it was an accident but warned them against anymore adventure or he would push back their warrior ceremony. Needlepaw was apprenticed to Badgerfoot, a large and heavey set warrior with a reputation for having a mean fighting streak. Willowpaw, though she was asked by Tawnystep if she desired to become a medicine cat, was apprenticed to Snowwhisker, a very pretty but stern shecat with a sharp tongue but kind heart.
Willowpaw didn't see much of Needlepaw after that. He was always out with Badgerfoot and always asleep when she came in for the night. Her parents also went back to their duties, her mother back as a warrior and their father back to being deputy. They were formal to say the least. Willowpaw really felt alone when she was an apprentice that first moon. It was at her first gathering a moon later that she met, then Thistlepaw, who was a Thunderclan apprentice. He was handsome but he was arrogant. And after they introduced to each other, she hated him. She couldn't stand the way he insinuated that Thunderclan was the best and that Shadowclan was nothing but a bunch of rogues and he seemed to be amused by her anger. The gathering ended and Willowpaw was happy to leave Thistlepaw and his arrogance behind, She wasn't looking forward to seeing him again.
As her training was shaping her to become the warrior she was, her wish of never seeing Thistlepaw again wasn't answered because it was a Thunderclan messenger that he came with, along with their medicine cat. Apparently there was a dog that had crossed over, and they were warning Sootstar about it but it didn't stop Thislepaw from pushing Willowpaw's buttons. And as they were leaving she snapped back at him in a whisper to watch his back. He grinned and left.
She didn't see him again until after she was a warrior. She had trained for six moons, losing her mother when she was eight moons due to a border fight with Windclan, and losing her brother to a snake bite. Sootstar named him the warrior Needlefang as he was dying, in honor of his fighting skill and bravery. Only her father remained. It wasn't until just before her warrior ceremony that she received her first scars. On her left ear from a Thunderclan warrior, whose name she caught was Cherryclaw. She vowed to get her back one day. But the thought was driven from her mind when Sootstar announced that she was to be named a warrior.
It was a cold leaf-bare afternoon when she was named a warrior. She was named Willowheart because of her strong sense of belief in herself and idealistic notion of right and wrong. It was the proudest she'd seen her father look and she prayed that her mother and brother were watching from Starclan, proud as well as she sat vigil that cold night. Though her morals were about to be tested as the gathering was the next day, and she would be going.
Willowheart was proud to represent Shadowclan the next day at the gathering. She was a new warrior and nothing could ruin her mood. That was until Thistlepaw showed up. He appeared at her side when she was sitting near the edge to listen to the other clan's report. He whispered a 'hello' in her ear when Otterstar, Riverclan's leader, was speaking and she hissed at him to 'shut up and leave her alone'. Of course he didn't. And she was just about to tell him to run along to the apprentices when Otterstar announced their new warriors, Duckfeather, Icecloud, and Thistlestorm. He sat smugly watching her. She gave him a tight smile and a congratulations before turning to listen to Sootstar. She sat proudly as Sootstar announced her name as a new warrior. As Thunderclan's leader, Sagestar, went to speak, she was distracted by Thistlestorm again when he congratulated her and went on to say that Shadowclan had gained a beautiful and strong new warrior. She could feel herself getting warm under her pelt, so she just hissed at him to be quiet. He complied, staying quiet until the gathering was over. And just as Willowheart was getting to leave, he stopped her again, staring intenty at her before asking her to meet him here at fourtrees, two days from then at moonhigh. She didn't know what to say as she looked into his eyes, so she just said she'd think about it and that was that, as she turned and returned to camp.
Willowheart returned to camp exhausted but confused. Shaking her head she returned to her nest to sleep it off. The next two days went by in a blur to the newly appointed warrior. While she remained dutiful to her duties, she couldn't stop her mind from wandering to what Thistlestorm had asked. What would happen if she did go? Would she get caught? Why her? These were some of the many questions going around in her head. And as the moon rose two days from the gathering, she decided she needed answers as she watched the moon rise and watched the cats around her fall asleep, She would go meet Thistlestorm at fourtrees.
